UPDATE! 9.7.13
Many thanks to Cousin Julie (Claire's sister) in Italy for sending me additional McKinney photos overnight & providing additional info. on the children of Annie (Armstrong) & James McKinney! Julie noted, "No photo of Emily, my father had never heard speak of her!"
"Regarding the stone for John McKinney, this is my grandfather John Charles Mckinney 1876-1954 and we knew where he was buried. This is in the graveyard (in the grounds of the church) of St Mary's Hound, Netley Abbey, Southampton, Hampshire, England. Netley Abbey is the village where my mum was born, where my parents were living when Susan, Claire and I were born. We moved away from there when I was 12 years old and there was no-one left to look after the plot. Recently, a firiend of mine, in my Ancestry group on Facebook, volunteered to 'find it' using information from Mum. She literally had to unearth it, it isn't a proper headstone."
Today, descendants of Annie & James still live in the UK & Italy! We thank Cousin Claire, Cousin Julie & their families for their diligent efforts in Family History which lent fate a hand and brought us together in 2010.
*If you're a descendant of Annie Armstrong & James Mckinney and would like additional information & photos, please contact me and I will forward your request onto Claire & Julie. |

5.20.15 We just received a reply from my 2010 inquiry!....
Hi Mark
Have just come across your request from some years ago. You may have this data, but here goes anyway.
Lilian Eliza Clarkson was my great aunt (my grandmother's sister).
Information I have about Andrew McKinney:
His full name was Andrew Wilson McKinney, born in Ireland (not know where).
Married in Ireland before migrating out to Lyttelton, New Zealand in 1889.
He was a chemist of some renown as he was employed as an expert witness in various court cases in Christchurch.
He died in Auckland 23 June 1927 and buried there.
His wife Elizabeth Lavinia Wilson provided Andrew with 5 children
Will add more information later today. Tony Meyers

Cousin Claire needs help with info. for John F McKinney...
I'm still 'missing' one of my G-Grandfathers three brothers so you never know- miracles have happened before, haven't they?) One of my puzzles is to try and find (if it exists) the death certificate for John F McKinney (my GG Grandfather) who died circa 1891 (b. circa 1824) in the Dromore parish of Co Tyrone in Northern Ireland. We think his wife might have been Mary Wilson but we aren't sure. John's siblings were James, David, Susannah, Alexander and Hester.

Hello, I'm currently researching my family tree, its led me to a Alexander McKinney born Dromore,County Tyrone in approx. 1856, the information I have is that he was the Reverend at St Mary Magdalene, his wife was Sarah Ann Massey (her father was a police officer / court bailiff). He had a few children, one of them stated he was an actor 1909/1911 period. I was doing a search for Alexender when I came across your site and noticed a lot of McKinneys involved with the church. Please could you let me know you have received my message, i look forward to hearing from yourselves ,
