If you haven’t heard about this event yet, it’s not too late to get involved. You can follow it on your own, join an existing group, or create your own group. The main event will be occurring in New York City, but other cities and countries across the world are also taking part. The largest event occurring in New Zealand is being sponsored by the Southland Branch of the NZ Genealogical Society in Invercargill. I don’t have any further contact information for that group but I image you could find them thru a simple Google search. Our neighborhood has been inspired by this event & has planned our own for this summer too.
When is the last time you've thought about organizing a great get together with your family? Thru the magic of modern technology, you could even invite family from the other side of the world thru Skype. Or you could invite everyone to be online on a specific date at a specific time to join a group chat & post photos. Have a little extra fun by sending out an email before hand encouraging everyone to answer a Family History quiz or identify old photos. The possibilities are endless!
