"These were taken Friday 15 May. His grandson, William Armstrong [yes another William - one of a few with that name in our family] aged 82 is doing the water blasting. He also did the same with the neighbor's grave. Two weeks previously we had scrubbed and cleaned the headstone which could barely be read. The writing was filled with inlays but much of it had come away so we tried painting in place. We now hope all the families will rally around so that we can get the professionals to re-do (one happened to be on site the day we water blasted and gave us costs of $800 or $1200). I'll send photos of us doing the cleaning and painting when I find them. - Les
Uncle Bill is a fibrous plasterer by trade so he will re-do the grave at some time. The water unfortunately did cause bits to crack and break off."
The cemetery is just in from the entrance to the Hamilton Gardens. As you drive in to the gardens take the first turn left and it leads you straight to the cemetery. Go straight up past the toilet [on the right hand side of it] straight towards the utility and map shed further up, turn right and follow the road right around until you are directly behind that building on the same road. The grave is in the third or fourth row on the right of the road. You can't miss it now.. It stands out!
There was a stone there which someone removed before we went back to waterblast. It was there for many years so it would be nice if it can be put back.
