I don't have any ancestors who left everything behind to cross the Plains & settle Utah. But I have ancestors who were no less Pioneers in every sense of the word. I mentioned in an early post that both my Dad's grandparents crossed the oceans to immigrate to America and begin a new life with their families in the early 1900's. Everybody on the planet knows Neil Armstrong who was a great example Space Pioneer, becoming the first man to step foot on the moon.
Today, we're surrounded with opportunities for each of us to become Pioneers in our own rights by taking on challenges that many others in the world avoid. We can be the first members of our families to learn a new language, volunteer at a community center, start a family website, heal a broken relationship, or overcome an addictive behavior.
Being a Pioneer means taking the right path in your life when it may not necessarily be the easiest one to follow. So, gather your courage & step out of your comfort zone one step at a time. Lead your family towards new opportunities. Leave your own Pioneer Legacy for your children & grandchildren to follow. Most importantly, enjoy the journey along the way!
