We don't know the exact date of his arrival, but we know from a note inside the old Armstrong Family Bible that he left Millview house, Ire. March 24th, 1873 bound for NZ through Australia.
***It might be a fun project for someone (or a group of "Someone") out there to research ships leaving ireland/UK at that time bound for NZ to see possible passenger lists for Wililam.
